Here's a fun collage - Audrey's really grown into her first outfit! (Hint - the left and bottom photos are the more recent ones :)
Audrey's umbilical cord fell off last week, finally! I thought it was never going to fall off. Now we're trying to figure out if she'll have an innie or an outie. I was not aware of this before, but apparently 90% of people have innies!
It looks like she is maybe starting to smile - or it may be gas - but she is starting to smile more either way, which is nice!
She is having more alert periods, and is sometimes awake for two hours at a time, but she still sleeps almost all of the time.
She is doing really well with breastfeeding, and I think it will just get easier from now on as she gets bigger and stronger.
An average 7 week old baby would probably be smiling and cooing, which Audrey isn't doing yet, but she isn't even supposed to be born yet! She was still one week early yesterday. So she won't be considered behind any developmental goals for another 7 weeks. She hasn't been weighed in almost two weeks, but she's somewhere around 6.5 pounds now since she seems to be growing and getting chubbier and doing well.
This weekend we saw a baby that was 2 days younger than Audrey. It was bizarre, the baby was SO different from Audrey. Not only was it almost exactly twice as big as her, there was also a big difference in its alertness. It was pretty fun to see.
We're excited for Audrey to develop and grow, but I'm definitely treasuring my time with her and not worrying about it! She is so tiny and amazing.
I actually don't have many pictures from this weekend, but Audrey visited with Aunt Mo & Uncle Kyle on Friday night, went to Lexington to see our friends Kris & Candace, went to her first Derby party, and had another fun bath. Her hair still gets so nice and fluffy! Overall it was a great weekend.
Hope you all had a fun weekend too! Here are some photos from our week.
Michael dressed Audrey up for the trip to Lexington. This is the outfit I bought to be her "going home" outfit, but she still barely fits into it!
Look at those little feet!
Audrey wearing her first dress earlier this week! The days have been alternating between hot and sunny, and thunderstorms and cooler. This was obviously on one of the hot days.
And some fun time after a bath.
And here's a new video:

Fun weekend!
Audrey says hi!
Audrey is not a big fan of her vitamins, I've been giving them to her from a medicine dropper, but it seems like mixing them in milk was a better plan. Her she is after a dose she particularly disliked.
Audrey & Michael and I had a very nice weekend.
Friday evening was quiet, but Saturday morning our friends Holly and Justin came by for a visit, all the way from Columbus, Ohio. We had a nice visit & were very glad they dropped by!
After that we headed up to our friend's houseboat. There is a beautiful lake about an hour away from Glasgow called Dale Hollow Lake, and the boat is in one of the marinas on that lake.
I think this is my new favorite photo of Audrey :) Although it's hard to pick one - as you can tell from the number of photos I post here!
This is our friend Lisa, hanging out with Audrey.
Here is Brandin with his & Lisa's son, Grayson. The last time I saw Grayson, around Halloween, he was just learning to walk, and seemed like a cute little baby. Now he seems like a giant, not just due to the fact that he's 6 months older, but also compared to Audrey he is huge! And still very cute :)
Michael put his audio/video expertise to work on the boat.
And here is Sara, keeping busy in the kitchen!

Audrey's First Bath
We finally decided that Audrey could not wait any longer for her umbilical stump to fall off - it was time for a bath! Audrey turned six weeks old today, so I think it was reasonable to give her a full bath, the sponge baths weren't quite cutting it anymore :) She didn't quite know what to think about it, she fussed a bit, but she took it well.
Here is her hair in all of it's awesome fuzziness.
At her check-up this week Audrey weighed 5 lb 10 oz! She's getting close to 6 pounds, I can't believe how big she's getting! Just last night she wore her first "newborn" sized outfit and has also started wearing newborn diapers. She's growing amazingly fast. I bet it won't take her long to double her birthweight!
Here are a couple more photos, just for fun.
Audrey's hungry, have to run!

Weekend
Audrey doing what she does best - sleeping & looking cute!
We've been having a nice weekend. It was my 30th birthday on Thursday, so we've celebrated a bit, but nothing major. We had some friends drop by, and went out for Mexican last night.
Our friends Beth and Dustin, visiting with Audrey:
The coming week Audrey has a couple of different doctors appointments, so I'll be sure to update about those.
Audrey seems to be having some longer spells of awake time, which is fun. Normally she wakes up, eats, and goes right back to sleep. But she has started staying awake for a little bit longer on occasion. I managed to get some more video of her awake for you to enjoy :)
And here are some awake photos:
See you all soon!
