Happy Easter

We hope everybody had a great weekend! We had a really nice one ourselves.

Audrey's Grandpa and Uncle Bryan came down from Toronto, we were so happy to see them!




Audrey's grandfather is a big hunter/fisherman, so, in his honor, she wore her "Major Cutie" camoflauge onesie - purchased at Wal Mart for this occasion for the bargain price of $3.







Another hand comparison shot, can you tell she's grown? Last week she weighed 4 lb 10 oz - she'll be weighed again tomorrow, hopefully she'll have made good progress!


We had a big day out on Saturday - we all went out for breakfast, went shopping and went over to Monica & Kyle's house for a nice dinner. Audrey wore the third of her special preemie outfits from her Aunt Chrystal.

4 weeks old already

I can't believe it, but Audrey was 4 weeks old yesterday. It seemed like we were in the NICU for ages, but it's crazy how fast the time has gone already!

We've already had a few visitors. Audrey's Nana was here until Tuesday, and our good friends Monica & Kyle, as well as Audrey's Papa. We've had a couple of other visitors, but didn't get to photograp them with Audrey :)









We're doing well. Still working on eating and growing and that takes up pretty much all of our time! I'll still try to update as I can!

There's no place like home!!!

They kept telling me that things would suddenly start to move quickly, and they weren't kidding!

On Friday Audrey's feeding tube was removed - the last barrier to coming home. And she suddenly started eating like a champion and hasn't looked back!

On Saturday we found out that she was going to come home Sunday, and now we're here.

The car ride home went very well. We weren't sure how Audrey would handle it, but she was pretty peaceful the whole way home.

Audrey's first night at home was a little bit less peaceful, but she finally settled down around 3 a.m. Her tummy was a bit upset and she had a hard time sleeping, but she's doing better now.

Into a big girl bed!

Audrey moved out of the isolette yesterday! She is now in a regular bassinet - which means that the only thing she needs to do before she can come home is eat all of her bottles all or the time! Right now she is eating all or her bottles some of the time and some of her bottles most of the time...we are so close, yet so far! We just need her to make the next step and then we can bring her home...I can't wait!

And here's Audrey's room. Michael is doing a great job. It's not quite done yet, but luckily Audrey will be sleeping in our room for the first few months.




Audrey may not appreciate this when she's a little older, but I thought this was quite amusing - Audrey made a big mess and the nurses sent her outift home in this bag :)



Audrey is now 4.25 pounds and gaining. She's doing really well! I'll update you all soon.

OH! I almost forgot to mention! Audrey is a Louisville celebrity now :) We were on the local news last night for a segment on breastfeeding. Here she is in her TV debut!
